What I'm Looking Forward to Watching

It’s Friday again and I’m back with another blog post. I know the last time I talked about new shows and movies coming out it was out of necessity with people being stuck inside their homes so much. Luckily we are getting back out and closer to normal but that doesn’t mean the entertainment stops. Everyone can enjoy a night in on the couch every now and then and that’s the perfect time to catch up on one of these amazing shows/movies that have come out or are being released soon. It seems like around this time each year we get a surge of new streaming content and this year is no different. A couple of these have been in the works and anticipated for years now. I haven’t seen any of these yet so no worries about spoilers. I like to rewatch previous seasons before watching a new season of a show to make sure everything's fresh. After these have all been out for a while I’ll make a post revisiting this and review what I watched. Make sure to comment and let me know what I missed or what you think of the shows and movies I have listed.

Ozark- The final season is finally here. After a long hiatus the story of the Byrd family will finally be wrapped up. This show is a rollercoaster that seems headed for disaster. Yet that’s what every season has seemed like but somehow things have always somewhat worked out. I recommend rewatching the previous seasons as this show deserves complete commitment. If you haven’t watched any of this yet consider this your warning. It’s a heavy watch. A lot happens and most of it is bad. This is one of those shows that will have you staying up way later than you planned because you just can’t go to bed not knowing what happens next.

Stranger Things- It’s finally here. Season 4 has been anticipated by fans for what seems like forever. The trailers and the amount of money they spent per episode tells me it won't disappoint. Not many shows have as big of a following as this show. I don’t know many shows that could go that long in between seasons and still have everyone's attention. I definitely recommend watching the previous seasons as this show has a ton of depth and callbacks that will be much easier to catch after a rewatch. Season 3 left viewers with tons of questions and one big one that seems like it will be answered rather quickly. It also seems like the show will feature some characters who didn’t have as big of parts in previous seasons which will add more intrigue.

We Own This City- This one hits close to home. This is based on the true story of the Baltimore Police Departments Gun Trace Task Force. You probably heard the story before. Filled with corruption the task force had an incredible rise and fall becoming the center of a scandal. This looks like it’s going to be really well done both acting and directing wise. I expect to be on the edge of my seat most of the time I’m watching. Even knowing how it ends this story is too good not to watch.

The Wilds- I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started this show but I was hooked instantly. There are definitely shows I like more but I really don’t know of a show recently that kept me guessing and blind sided me quite like this one did. You think you know what’s going on and then everything changes. Season 1 ended on a cliff-hanger with a ton of lingering questions so I can’t wait to see where they take season 2.

Hustle-To be fair you will have to wait for this one for a bit but I truly think it’ll be worth it. I’m a huge Adam Sandler fan from his beginning movies up to the most recent Netflix releases. Even his worst rated movies to me are always a good watch. This movie has a totally different feel to it. Everyone knows Sandler is a huge basketball fan. So him making a movie about something he loves makes me think it’s going to be a hit. He already proved to his biggest doubters that 1. He still had it and 2. He can get serious for a role when he unleashed the instant classic Uncut Gems. This comes out June 8th so a little less than a month away. The previous shows on the list should keep you occupied till then.
