College tips and tricks

Transitioning to college can be a very difficult transition for many people as they are going to be living on their own sometimes very far away from their families. There are a few college tips and tricks that I have learned while going through the experience. The first is make sure to always wash your hands, clean and sanitize. Freshman year living in the dorms I was the sickest I have ever been. I know many of my friends were sick all the time as well. Living so close to other people it is easy to spread germs and they do spread rapidly. One morning you might hear someone has the flu and by the next day you have it as well. Making sure you constantly wash your hands and clean your room will help prevent that you may catch what is going around the dorms. Another college tip is if your college offers a microwave fridge package, get it. My University offered a microfridge and if we did not get it we could not have a microwave in our rooms. It helped so much to have a microwave in our room to heat up leftovers or even make late night snacks. Getting the microfridge was one of the best decisions that my roommate and I made. The last little college tip I would have would be to get involved. Meeting people who live in your dorm and joining clubs can be a great way to expand your friend group. It is important to find something that you love to do and surround yourself with people who also like that. Being involved can help you find the best friends of your life. I know if I wouldn’t have branched out and joined clubs I probably wouldn’t have as happy as I am at my University. College can either be some of the best years of your life if you make the most out of it. Be active and try new things college is the opportunity for you to find what you’re good at and figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life. Enjoy it.
