Updated: Oct 11, 2019

Umbrella Lamps and Paper Lanterns

Fall 2019 is bringing a new twist on lighting trends. If you keep your eyes open you’ll notice more and more umbrella lamps. They come from Italian design. Whether it’s a desk lamp, pendant or floor lamp. Umbrella lamps are a great way to turn a functional piece stylish. According to professionals in the industry they don’t see them going anywhere any time soon.

Paper Lanterns are another lighting trend that's gaining more and more traction. These are incredibly stylish, modern and minimalistic. They provide great lighting and make your room like up-to-date and gives it a light feeling. You can find them for as little as $18 so you don’t need to break the bank for a little style.

Handcrafted and Wooden Textures

Another trend experts agree on is adding wooden textures to a room. One way to do this is the walls. The addition of the natural texture of wood it makes the room more inviting. Printed wood graphics are an affordable and trendy way to incorporate this. When the wood is hand made it adds a one-of-a-kind feel of character and uniqueness to a room. And if you purchase from one of the many local eastern shore shops you can feel good about supporting your local businesses. Handcrafted items don’t have to be wood though as woven textiles and pottery are other examples of great hand crafted materials

Metal

Rustic and salvaged metal are becoming more and more common. You especially see it in lighting fixtures and display cabinets. While rose gold was 2018’s popular trend. Copper is making its push this fall along with other metals and finishes. With its earthy feel and warm tones, copper adds a natural relaxation to your interior. It’s a great alternative to more cold dark metals like steel, nickel and chrome. Brass is another popular option this year and is warm and inviting like copper.

Touches of Fall

Fall is many peoples favorite time of year. It’s not too hot anymore but not too cold yet, football is back, harvests are going on and of course Halloween. If you want it to feel more like fall in your home there are plenty of small additions you can make that will do just that;

Cozy throw blankets can be put anywhere and are both stylish and extremely functionable as the temperatures start to drop. Get some cozy blankets and place them any area with seating.

Orange! Pumpkins, both real and fake are great decoration pieces for fall. Orange will really make a space pop while giving it a warm and relaxing mood. Possibly some throw pillows or a blanket will do the trick.

Candles, candles, candles. One of the best parts of fall are the aromas. Fill your house with pumpkin spice, apple spice, caramel apple. Candles look good and can make any house feel like a home.

Adding Cornstalks to your front or back porch is another great way to incorporate fall into your home. Cheap and easy to find, they can really improve an outdoor space.
